Operation Diamond - Winner Announced

Hooray!

It's time to announce the winner of our fabulous on-line treasure hunt, OPERATION DIAMOND that has been running here and over on the Adventure Island website.

We had loads of entries  - most of them with the correct answers too! The winner was picked out from a hat in the offices at Orion Children's Books in London.

And the winner is . . . drum roll please . . .
Rosie Armitage (12) from Bedfordshire!

Well done, Rosie!
Your prize is that you will be a named character in one of the new Adventure Island books coming out in 2013. I'll be in touch very soon to have a chat to make sure we create a lovely character around you.

Rosie will also be receiving a full set of all ten Adventure Island books for herself and a set for her school (all signed, of course!)

I'm really delighted that Rosie has won the competition because I actually met Rosie at the Bedfordshire Libraries Book of the Year event in June! But I wasn't even there when the winner was picked out, so it wasn't fixed! It really was just a luck chance!

The two runners-up are Katie Kirkpatrick (10) and Emily Stevens (7).
Well done, girls! You will both be receiving a signed set of ten Adventure Island books.

And the correct answer? The culprit who stole the Jubilee Diamond was Brian T. Frye!

I'll put a short story on the Operation Diamond page soon to tell you exactly how he did it.

Thank you very much to all the brilliant children's literature blogs and websites who took part by hosting one of the daily clues back in May! All the original posts and clues and links are still on the Operation Diamond page.
